A bishop election will take place at the 2026 Synod Assembly. The following timeline comes from our Synod Constitution and will be followed by the Nominating Committee. More information will be added to this webpage, as it becomes available.

NEW: Bishop Candidate Nomination Form (Deadline to nominate candidates is February 25.) 

• Each congregation may submit up to three names of Ministers of Word and Sacrament in the ELCA (pastors) for consideration as bishop.
• Nominations must be the result of official congregational action (e.g., council or annual meeting).
