Mentor Coach and Developer
The Mentor Coach and Developer for Synod Authorized Ministry (SAM) is a rostered minister contracted to enact with creativity and faithfulness the CaSTLE (Country and Small Town Lived Ecclesiology) Project grant received by the Eastern North Dakota Synod from Wartburg Theological Seminary.
The Mentor Coach and Developer is responsible for building out the Mentor component of the Synod Lay Ministry program and equipping the Mentors with the resources they need in order to serve well as Mentors. The Mentor Coach and Developer makes possible a support of Synod Lay Ministry through an emphasis on a baptismal ecclesiology.
This term position is an important component of the Synod Lay Ministry program of the EaND Synod. This position begins no earlier than July 7, 2025 and concludes May 15, 2026. The contract is based on 336 hours for the contract period, with the majority of the work accomplished within the calendar year 2025.

Disaster Capacity Builder (Full-Time)
Historically, disaster preparedness and response were provided in the state of North Dakota through Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota. With the closure of LSSND, the Eastern and Western North Dakota Synods are creating this new position, funded with a three-year grant from Lutheran Disaster Response of the ELCA. The purpose of the position is to build disaster resiliency and response preparedness with and among ELCA Lutherans in the Eastern and Western North Dakota Synods. The position is accountable equally to both synod bishops, with supervision and employment being managed by the Western North Dakota Synod.

Lutheran Campus Ministry and Fusion Youth Ministry Director, Morris, MN
Lutheran Campus Ministry of Morris Minnesota and Fusion Youth Ministry of Stevens County Minnesota are searching for a full time ministry professional. These two ministries are excited to be partnering to minister to young people in our area. The candidate may be ordained or lay. Graduate studies in ministry will be preferred.
Both ministries are searching for someone who builds community and is focused on relationships that model Christ to others. This includes ministry directly with students on campus and at the high school. It also includes ministry to leaders, community members, local congregations, and community organizations. This position is full time with single benefits administered through Portico Benefits, the benefits company that administers the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. While many of the congregations supporting LCM and Fusion are ELCA, there is also a UCC – Methodist congregation, and many individuals from other congregations.
