Besides those two, however, there are literally dozens of other separately organized Lutheran denominational bodies incorporated in the United States, many of them quite tiny and largely unknown beyond their own members. How and why has the multiplication of Lutheran denominational bodies occurred, and what should Lutherans in any one of those bodies know about the others?
