Join Luther Seminary for this FirstThird Dialogue designed to both begin, as well as further, ongoing conversations about the deep and adaptive change in our churches in confirmation preparation and the rite itself.

Every year we gather for spiritual renewal, powerful continuing education and amazing opportunities to network with peers. You are invited to join!

Groups of youth from the Red River Valley and all through North Dakota are invited to form PeaceJam groups. Come to Grand Forks on Saturday, October 1 from 9 am until 3 pm to take part in the PeaceJam Slam kick-off (location TBA).

“The mission of the PeaceJam Foundation is to create young leaders committed to positive change in themselves, their communities and the world through the inspiration of Nobel Peace Laureates who pass on the spirit, skills, and wisdom they embody.”

PeaceJam groups will be supplied age appropriate curriculum and support as they create and implement a service-learning project over the coming year. We invite groups of all ages, including college, to participate in the PeaceJam program. We will be inviting PeaceJam groups ages 14+ to the National Service-Learning and Youthrive Regional PeaceJam Leadership Conference in April of 2012 in Minneapolis, where they will have a chance to meet Shirin Ebadi, 2003 Nobel Peace Laureate. Scholarships will be available.

The two main stories on the title page of the DVD convey the mission of the Synod and that of the greater ELCA. There are 12 chapter story videos detailing some of the ministries of the Eastern North Dakota Synod. Enjoy viewing them. We want you to know the ‘Synod Stories’ to feel good about enthusiastically supporting our work together. Each congregational president has received a copy of this DVD for use in their local congregation.
