We are a church that rolls up its sleeves and gets to work.
The ELCA malaria campaign is a prime example. Mosquitos are busy at night, a child dies every 60 seconds.; when we started the campaign a child died every 45 seconds. That difference of 15 seconds means 480 more children per day, some 14,600 more per month, and over 175,000 more children per year are now alive. Continue reading…
Dear friends, Joyeux Noel to all of you.
I know this list is rather limited and I would request that you forward as needed, but wanted to get the news to the partners of EELRCA in a timely manner. Some of you may be aware that rebel activity to the north of CAR has been increasing the last few weeks and they’ve been taking control of more and more towns as they move toward Bangui. Many of us use this season to focus on how the Light of the world is reflected in and through our global work. As a new ELCA missionary, this global work together as a church is now my passion and calling. Continue reading…

Ava Aigner, age 10
This past summer at Richland Lutheran, rural Walcott, Ava Aigner, age 10, learned about the ELCA Malaria Campaign during Vacation Bible School. She heard that $10 could save a child’s life! The first day of Sunday School at her home church, Faith Lutheran of Wolverton, MN, she told them about the ELCA Malaria Campaign and challenged her Sunday School to raise $350. Her leaders encouraged her to take the challenge to the congregation and the result was a $1,004.00 donation for the malaria campaign.
Ava is a 5th grader at Richland 44 in Abercrombie, ND where she enjoys playing basketball. Thank you, Ava.

A phone call started it all. A long-held dream was set in motion by the caller’s words: “Pastor, would your congregation like to be a partner in a joint farming mission project?” So, the partnering began: Ron DeWeered of the Food Resource Bank put us in contact with Bryan Nelson, a land owner from Grand Forks. The use of the 96 acres would mean that, as a congregation, we could raise funds for mission. Continue reading…
