President Golkike, Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Central African Republic
President Andre’ Golike, of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Central African Republic, will be visiting the Eastern North Dakota Synod during the week of February 10-15, 2010.
President Golike presides over this, our Companion Synod, in a country filled with challenges of many kinds. We look forward to showing President Golike an equally warm welcome here in North Dakota. Continue reading…

A new DVD, The Eastern North Dakota “US” – Stories of Shared Ministry, is now available thanks to generous people willing to share their talents. This DVD highlights some of the good work happening in the Eastern North Dakota Synod.
The two main stories on the title page of the DVD convey the mission of the Synod and that of the greater ELCA. There are 12 chapter story videos detailing some of the ministries of the Eastern North Dakota Synod. Enjoy viewing them. We want you to know the ‘Synod Stories’ to feel good about enthusiastically supporting our work together. Each congregational president has received a copy of this DVD for use in their local congregation.

What can our synod do to be better partners in Christ with our companion synod? One way is to learn more about the C.A.R. itself and the many ministries happening there. This PowerPoint is for pastors, staff, committees and organizations of your congregations to use Continue reading…
Updates and Prayer Requests
Pastor Joyce and Ian Graue, missionaries serving in CAR, share the following:
The construction of the Women’s Center – known as “Chez Marthe et Marie” – is complete. Support from congregations for this project is ongoing as the center begins serving area women and is dependent on gifts. The adjacent church is complete but needs furniture including pews, benches, lectern, and communion table. Representatives from companion synods (Eastern ND, Western ND (external link) and Texas-Louisiana Gulf (external link)) traveled to CAR for the dedication in February.
The Village Education Project of the Lutheran Church (20 schools established so far) continues to need support. To begin phase two of the VEP Continue reading…
