The Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Central African Republic is the Companion Synod of the Eastern North Dakota Synod of the ELCA. Many of C.A.R.’s people live daily lives of struggle and bare subsistence; however, Christians in the C.A.R. exhibit such joy in worshiping their Savior!

Tri-County Ministry (external link) and Luther Seminary, St. Paul, MN (external link) will sponsor the seventh annual 2009 Seminary on the Prairie (external link) Monday, January 12 through Friday, January 16, 2009 at Red Willow Bible Camp (external link) near Binford, ND.
The event is offered to seminarians to introduce them to rural ministry during the prairie winter. Church leaders, lay ministers and pastors are invited as well to learn more about rural church development and re-development.

An inaugural Book of Faith (external link) training event for lay and rostered leaders of the Eastern North Dakota and Northwestern Minnesota Synods.
Throughout the 2 1/2 days of Working the Word!, Dr. Harry Wendt, of Crossways International (external link) will equip participants to lead several short courses. Through the pages of scripture we will explore the themes of service toward God and neighbor, stewardship, and God’s gift of grace.

Both events will begin on Sunday at 6:30 pm and conclude Tuesday at 4:30 pm. Registration is $100 per participant and includes meals and materials.
