Youth & Family Ministry provides opportunities for the youth of the Eastern North Dakota Synod to gather and share their faith through experiences that challenge, encourage, nurture, and foster faithful leadership. Several events are scheduled throughout the calendar year.

Youth Gatherings

ELCA National Youth Gathering

2009 ELCA Youth Gathering: Jesus Justice and Jazz Every 3 years the ELCA has a youth gathering which involves around 36,000 teenagers and adults gathering together as a church to worship, to serve, to grow in discipleship and to celebrate Jesus Christ, our faith and our Lutheran heritage. The 2009 ELCA Youth Gathering will be in New Orleans, Louisiana on July 22-26, 2009 with the theme of Jesus • Justice • Jazz.

Some exciting changes are taking place at this event along with favorite traditions... this Gathering will not be like your "mother's youth gathering." Instead this gathering will be the "mother of all service projects!" One of the main goals of this gathering will be not only to learn about service in the name of Christ, but to put service learning to work in helping with the recovery work being done in New Orleans. Our synod will be providing optional transportation to the gathering for congregations that wish to use it. More details will be coming in the future.
