Synod Endowment Sunday - September 30, 2012

The Eastern North Dakota Synod Endowment Fund to sustain rural ministry and enhance quality pastoral leadership is intended to help sustain vital, viable ministry in Eastern North Dakota for years to come. The Synod Council authorized the establishment of the Fund, and the initial resolution was overwhelmingly passed by the Eastern North Dakota Synod Assembly on March 25, 2000. Since then, Synod Endowment Sundays have been held the last Sunday in September each year.

Your gift to the Synod Endowment Fund will support:

Scholarship aid for seminarians
Rostered leaders' student loan debt repayment
Rostered leaders' pension equity contributions
Rural internship assistance
Leadership development

Endowment Grant Application

Current rostered leaders in the EaND Synod are encouraged to complete the Seminary Student Loan Repayment and/or Pension Equity Payment 2012 application form. This completed form, along with supporting documents, must be postmarked by March 15, 2012 to be considered.

Contact the synod office if you have questions about the application process.

Seminary Student Loan Repayment Qualifications:

ELCA rostered leaders serving in the Eastern North Dakota Synod in last calendar year
Have paid on seminary debt in the last calendar year.
- OR -
New to this synod in the last calendar year.
A copy of your payment history report for the last calendar year from the lending institution(s). Most grants are based on the amount paid on loan(s). Be sure to include entire calendar year.

Pension Equity Payment Qualifications:

ELCA rostered leaders serving in the Eastern North Dakota synod for the last calendar year
Defined compensation, as reported to the Board of Pensions, is below $46,000.
A copy of your Board of Pensions billing or account summary showing annual defined compensation figure, name and member number.
