The Eastern North Dakota Synod is part of Region 3 (external link) of the ELCA (external link).

The word "synod" comes from the Greek words: syn meaning together, and hodos meaning the way. A synod is a group of people on the way together.

The EaND Synod is comprised of 222 rostered leaders and 101,602 baptized members. The synod covers approximately the eastern third of the state of North Dakota and is divided into eight conferences:

1. Carrington
2. Devils Lake
3. Fargo
4. Grafton
5. Grand Forks
6. Jamestown
7. Mayville
8. Wahpeton
